How much does it cost?
Each graduate semester hour for the 2007-2008 Academic Year is $435
per semester hour.
Tuition Comparison:
The tuition per semester hour is $435 for the 2007-2008 academic year.
When comparing the University of Dayton's Department of Counselor
Education and Human Services to other programs, it is important to
realize the following:
Our programs are based on semester hours compared to quarter hours.
Therefore 60 semester hours is generally equal to 90 quarter hours.
Another university may offer a similar community counseling program at
91 quarter hours with a fee of $413 per quarter hour. In this situation,
the University of Dayton's tuition for the program would be $26,100
compared to $37,170 at the other university.
How do I apply and what is the
process?
The online application is simple, user-friendly, and free! In
addition, you can save it as you go, completing it at your own pace.
After submission, you can periodically check your status.
For more details, check out
Applications.
What happens after I get accepted?
You will receive an acceptance letter with your advisor's name.
At this point, you can contact your advisor to map your course
schedule. You
also want to get a parking permit, if needed, as well as order your
textbooks.
What about orientations?
The University sponsors a Graduate School Open House one week prior
to classes beginning in the Fall. At this time you can speak with
representatives regarding parking, health insurance, and financial aid.
Each program has their
own orientation. For example, the school counseling program and
community counseling program includes a one semester hour orientation course to be
taken during the first semester.
How do I
register for courses?
If you are already accepted into the program, you will receive a
course bulletin via mail with the courses. You can use this bulletin to
schedule online.
If you are a non-degree student, please
fill out the form as described on the
registrar's website.
Which courses should I take?
Each program is unique and requires a good planning strategy if you
are planning to graduate within a specific time frame. To prevent
mishaps in scheduling and graduation delay, we suggest that you discuss
this with your advisor during the
first semester.
Who is my advisor?
Your advisor's name was listed on your acceptance letter. If you have additional questions, contact the
Department of Counselor Education & Human Services at 937.229.3644.
Where do I buy my textbooks?
Textbooks can be purchased from the
University of Dayton's
Bookstore, either online or on campus. Off-campus sites do not
have the textbooks; therefore, plan accordingly. We also advise
shopping online at Amazon.com or
Half.com.
Where do I park? Do I need a parking permit?

purchase a
UD parking permit.
Capital University's parking permit
is also required to park in designated parking lots on Capital's campus.

Franklin County Educational Service Center
