The Office of Accreditation serves as the School of Education and Allied Profession’s (SOEAP) coordination and collection point for data collection, analysis, and reporting required by federal regulations (e.g., Title II), accrediting bodies (e.g., NCATE, North Central), and Unit initiatives.

Title II reporting began with the 1999-2000 cohort of graduates seeking teaching licenses. Reporting is done annually. Annual reports are published in April for the previous year. Click here for the most recent report.

The SOEAP has been accredited, since 1955, by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), 2010 Massachusetts Ave., NW, Suite 500, Washington, DC 20036; phone (202) 466-7496. This accreditation covers initial teacher preparation programs and advanced educator preparation programs. NCATE is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation to accredit programs for the preparation of teachers and other professional school personnel.

The University of Dayton has been accredited by the North Central Association since 1928. The most recent re-accreditation was received in 1997. The SOEAP as a unit within the University of Dayton meets the North Central Association standards
